I think maybe contacting some people directly would be better.
Discussing injuries on a training forum doesnt really promote pieace of mind. Everyone should be aware of the risks to themselves obviously, but for many, injuries are private matters.

yeah thats a good point actually
i guess if theres any subjects ne1 thinks would be good in it (drug abuse, early deaths etc) that would be helpful, not trying to laugh at other ppls injuries or nethin

It's not the best of times to ask either, with Eddie Guerrero just having died people are going to be very sensitive about the subject.

Hell I just hope your not writing a presentation because with grammer like that your gauranteed to fail. I think Jess is right though people may think you to be unsensitive given what's just happened. You need information like that you can find loads just by searching the internet correctly and you wouldn't need to ask anyone.

But why focus on the negatives anyway? why not paint wrestling in a more positive light? talk about the sheer entertainment, and the ability of wrestlers to reach out to people, to tell a story etc etc

I've got something for the lifestyle part of it for you.
Wrestling is a community. I've always been the odd one out among groups of friends, at Future-Shock I discovered a group of people who were like me, and were more than willing to accept me into their group. Whenever I've met another wrestler there's a camaraderie, a shared dream. We all want the same thing, to entertain, to wrestle. Wrestling is more than a hobby, more than a sport; for me it's a family.
What injuries show, or in this most recent case, Eddie's death, is how much of a community both wrestlers and the fans are. So many people have shown their respect for Eddie and his family, which serves to prove how much a single wrestler can do for people. They're people's heroes, the ones who show them how to fight through adversity, how to be strong, how to give up everything to reach your dreams. Most of all, they're an inspiration to millions.
That's what wrestling means to me. I've onyl been training slightly less than two years, but wrestling has irrevocably changed my life, for the better.

I definately agree with both Jesse and Sarah on this, as I feel that wrestling has given me a hell of a lot more direction with my life and the person that I want to be. And I definately agree with Jesse on how we are all becoming a community/family, as I too have insecurities/doubts about fitting in wherever I am, until I get there and meet everybody, I just love being around everyone.

Yeah i know what your all talkin about and in no way am i putting down wrestling and im talking about the entertainment factor as most of it i was looking for some good info on the business and the side ppl dont see on smackdown, i thought a forum of wrestlers would be the ideal place to start
and also: "Hell I just hope your not writing a presentation because with grammer like that your gauranteed to fail." What a bad time to misspell grammar...and Guaranteed...ouch lol

To be honest, spelling mistakes frequently occur on the internet due to the inaccuracy of the small keys and the speed at which people type. I'm sure that what Jen was referring to was your poor sentence structure and your need to shorten words and replace some with numbers.
I agree with her, but I'm a Lynne Truss fan, so I don't count.

They are only abbrieviations and numberical homophones and are typical features of emails, text messages and most informal handtyped communications. It's not really fair to start insulting grammar because it's in a non-standard english format when it's found in a friendly internet forum. But yknow w/e...
(I have English Language A Levels...had to come in handy eventually) Niq

Well, if you have A-levels in the correct useage of the English language, use them. You should have an appreciation for the language we use, and you should want to promote it's correct use through all mediums of communication. Also please note, "txt spk" is a pet hate of many a person on this board. So please, type sensibly. Thankyou

Yeah, I also have an A-Level in English Language, and Literature. And I spend too much time moderating other forums where the mode of communication has degenerated so much that it is sometimes impossible to figure out the intended message.
And read Lynne Truss' "Eats, Shoots and Leaves." The best book on grammar ever. The superlative is deserved, were it not against my nature I would have typed 'bestest'.

O RLY? Despite it being a standard feature, I shall try to cut down on the colloquialisms. Just because I care about the community.
